2018 Rug Design Program Download     Filetype:    ZIP Owner:    David Raup/Al Butler Created: December 29, 2017     2018 Rug Design Program To Download 32-bit Version and Installation RugDsign will run on all 32-bit or higher Windows-based PCs (including Windows 10). This version of the program was recompiled using Visual Basic 4.0 and does not require a lot of the excess baggage used by newer versions of software. Thus, the 32-bit version of RugDsign requires only two files: RUGDSIGN-32bit.EXE and VB40032.DLL. Both files are included in a zipped file called RugDsign-32bit.zip, along with a set of instructions in MS Word (RugManual-32bit.doc). Procedure: 1. Unzip RugDsign-32bit.zip using a standard WinZip or some such program. 2. Make sure all 3 contained files end up in the same folder. This may be a newly created folder or one you already have. 3. In My Computer or Windows Explorer, find and double-click RugDsign-32bit.exe. This will start the program. 4. For convenience, place a shortcut to the rug program on your desktop. To do this, Select and then right-click RugDsign-32bit.exe (in My Computer), then highlight "Send to" and select Desktop (Create shortcut). This should place the RugDsign icon on your Windows desktop for easy access. Special Note: If the program does not run or error messages result, run it as an Administrator. To do so: a) If the program is run from the desktop (step #4 above), right-click the icon and select Run as Administrator. b) If the program is run directly from the file in Windows Explorer or My Computer, right-click RUGDSIGN-32bit.exe and select Run as Administrator.   LACE-2011 Download     Filetype:    ZIP Owner:    No Owner Created: April 06, 2011     Newest version of Lace Weave program by David Raup. Included in this .zip file is the program itself, the documentation/instructions and a necessary file for those of you with newer computers which do not come with the necessary file already installed. You will need WinZip to unzip and use this software. Once the files are unzipped, it is important that all three files are placed in the same folder, and that you read the installation notes in RugManual.doc before proceeding. David has rewritten the Shwoosh program for the Windows platform and retitled Diamond, and it is much easier to use! Before you download please note the following: 1. Has not been extensively tested 2. Program is meant for use by weavers conversant with the Diamond Rag Rug Technique. It is not meant as a tutorial, rather as a tool. Please note: * all editing is done with the red buttons * you can activate a button with the mouse or by moving from one to another with the tab key or cursor keys (followed by ENTER) * two print options: a simple screen dump (fast print) or a somewhat better print (slow print) * two save options: screen image or a higher resolution image (rug image only!) This requires 8MB hard disk space and Winzip to unzip the setup file. The compressed file is 5 MB and may take some time to download on slower dial-up connections. : After unzipping the download (Diamond.zip), run SETUP.EXE. When this is complete, you will find "Rag Rug" on the Start/Programs/Diamond setup menu. Clicking "Rag Rug" will start the Diamond program. An instruction manual, with some background on Diamond rag rugs, can be found in the folder called c:\Program Files\Diamond and is called RUGREAD.TXT.
